Competition & Prizes
The Curious Camera Event is a friendly competition calling on artists worldwide to embrace the unpredictability and fascination of photography using their favorite cameras.
1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners will receive a camera, film and a trophy they can proudly display. Winners will be featured in our gallery exhibition. Click Here to view prizes.
Rules
Images must be made with one of the following camera categories:
Pinhole – homemade or manufactured
Plastic Lens – Holga, Diana, Blackbird Fly, etc.
Vintage – older than 1950; ex: No. 2 Brownie, Leica II etc.
Instant – Polaroid, Fuji Instax, Impossible, etc.
Cell Phone – iPhone, Android, Blackberry, etc.
Submission Deadline
Sunday April 7th, 2013, Midnight
ArtsEye Gallery Exhibition Saturday, April 27th
Judges will select the top 30 images which will be printed and framed by Photographic Works. Artwork will be 8×10 archival pigmented ink prints on smooth watercolor paper, framed with museum quality materials. Artists will have the opportunity to sell their artwork and purchase prints.
All submission images will be digitally projected in our gallery. .
How to Enter
Fill out our Online Submission Form.
Upload your images or mail us prints.
Pay online via paypal, check by mail or cash in store. $10 submission fee per image.
Formatting Files for Submission
Cell phones – send native cell phone file
Film or prints – scan and save as JPEG 800×800 pixels wide
Title files with name and number (e.i. Smith_01.jpg)
Prints for Submission
Prints should be no larger than 8×10 or 10×10. Prints will not be returned and will become part of the Curious Camera Archive. Send self addressed stamped envelope to have prints returned.
Juried – Top 30 Images to be Printed and Framed
If your image is chosen to be printed and displayed we will contact you for a printable file. Files should be sized to 8×10 or 10×10 at 300 dpi .jpeg or .tiff. In cases of cell phones we will accept the best or highest resolution file available.
In cases of original prints or instant film – we are happy to display your original work or at the artists discretion we will scan and print.
Photographic Works, our fine art imaging lab will make archival pigmented ink prints on smooth water color paper. Prints are matted and framed in a contemporary style with only the best museum quality materials.
Exhibition prints will be for sale at the artists discretion for $150 with a 50/50 gallery commission. Prints will be available in open editions. Artists may purchase exhibition prints for $30.
