CPAC is seeking entries for a photography exhibition juried by Eric Paddock, Curator of Photography, Denver Art Museum.

The exhibition will be a survey of new work made within the past three years, and is a rare chance to get your work seen by this renowned photography curator. There is no theme.

Deadline for entries – November 22, 5 PM MST

Fees: $35 up to 5 images ($30 Members); $5/$4 each additional image
Exhibition at CPAC: January 9 – February 15, 2014.

A $500 purchase award will be given for Best of Show, chosen by the juror on site at CPAC. The selected image will become part of CPAC’s permanent photography collection. Three honorable mention awards will be made. An exhibition catalog will be published.

Works submitted must have been made within three years of the exhibition deadline. All lens-based media are eligible, including but not limited to images made by film or video camera, scanner, screen-capture, digital camera, and any means of mobile photography. Entry is open to regional, national, and international artists, members and non-members of CPAC.

Before joining the Denver Art Museum (DAM) as Curator of Photography and Media Arts in 2008, juror Eric Paddock spent 25 years as the Colorado Historical Society’s (CHS) Curator of Photography and Film. Paddock has created many highly regarded exhibitions for the DAM, most recently solo shows by Laura Letinsky and Robert Benjamin, and “Dirty Pictures,” a group show. He holds an MFA degree in photography from Yale University. In addition to his role at the DAM, Paddock has taught as a visiting professor of art history and photography for the University of Denver, the University of Colorado at Denver, and Colorado College, among others. Recent published essays include an introduction to the DAM/Fraenkel Gallery revised edition of Robert Adams’s “Prairie” (2011); Robert Benjamin’s “Notes From a Quiet Life” (Radius Books, 2012); and the forthcoming Chuck Forsman Book, “Walking Magpie” (George F. Thompson Books, 2013).
