Deadline: Midnight Monday, December 6th
Juror: Timothy B. Anderson
Finding the pose that cuts to the heart of a subject and catching the gesture that says it all is one of the supreme challenges of photography. For the juried exhibition “Pose and Gesture” at PhotoPlace Gallery, we seek images whose strength lies in a figure’s pose or gesture. Juror Tim Anderson will select forty photographs for exhibition at PhotoPlace Gallery in February and on the gallery website. An additional thirty-five images will be chosen for PhotoPlace’s “On-Line Gallery Annex.” To help artists defray costs, PhotoPlace Gallery offers to mat and frame work selected for exhibition free of charge, providing artists print their images to our pre-cut mat and frame sizes.
Juror Tim Anderson is the former managing editor of CameraArts magazine and has been a professional photographer for more than 20 years. He has a wide range of experience from shooting dragsters and NASCAR sanctioned races to political figures to concerts (Emmylou Harris, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Motley Crue, etc.). His real passion, however, is the female nude and the many opportunities it presents. He recently published Poser: A Sketchbook of Ideas for Photographers and Models. He is the editor of Red Dog News, a bi-weekly photo-based e-mail newsletter, and The Red Dog Blog. To learn more about Tim visit www.timothybanderson.com.
