LightBox Photographic Gallery is seeking submissions for its second annual “SPOOKY SHOWâ€! Entries should be haunting, mysterious, spooky or creepy in mood or subject. An aura of spookiness if you will! Submit images that create a sense of unease, while maintaining the element of beauty. Selected works will be exhibited at LightBox Gallery from Oct. 9-Nov. 10, 2010. An artists reception will be on Saturday Oct. 9th, 5-9pm in conjunction with the Astoria Art Walk. A second reception will be on Oct. 30, 2010 from 6-8pm, where prizes will be awarded to winning entries. Since this takes place on Halloween Eve, feel free to dress for the occasion!
Eligibility
All photographic artists are encouraged to submit their interpretation of spooky shots. Photographers of all levels using any photographic process or 3 dimensional pieces that incorporates photography are welcome. Inkjet prints must be archival pigment ink, no dye based please.
Deadlines
Deadline for submissions is midnight September 20, 2010.
Deadline for delivery of accepted works is October 4, 2010.
Requirement for Submission
You may email jpegs or send us a CD, proof prints, or slides of your images. Include SASE for return if needed.
Entry Fee
There is a non refundable entry fee of $10 each, or $25 for 3, and $5 each for each additional no limit.
Payment must accompany entry. Payment may be made by check, money order or credit card OR Paypal.
Notification
We will to notify you by phone or email by September 22th if your work has been chosen for this exhibit.
Early submission may receive early acceptance notice.
Sales
LightBox will retain a 40% commission on all works sold. Please price your work accordingly.
Payment will be made to artists for works sold within 30 days of the close of the exhibit.
Size/Matting/Framing
Prints should be no larger than 16×20 in a 20×24 mat. (contact us for exceptions)
LightBox will frame matted pieces that are sent in standard sizes
If work is unframed, please have the mat be a standard size of either 11×14, 16×20, 18×24, 20×24. Matting and framing meeting general recognized gallery and museum standards is required. Please use mats that are archival & acid free in white, off white, black or dark gray in color. Black wood gallery frames or metal frames in matte black are acceptable. (Other neutral frames will be considered, please contact us with any questions.)

November 16, 2010 Any unsold artwork available for pickup.
November 30, 2010 Return of any shipped artwork to be completed by this date.
