Call for Entries: Windows and Mirrors, Vermont PhotoPlace Gallery

Jurors: Elizabeth Corden and Jan Potts, Corden|Potts Gallery, San Francisco

Deadline: Midnight Monday, Aug. 27th

For WINDOWS AND MIRRORS we seek photographs that use windows and/or mirrors in a creative way. For example, a window can offer a reflected subject or be used as a framing element in a composition. A mirror can present two different realities simultaneously, or present an altered view of reality. Photographs can include both a window and a mirror, or just feature one of the two. We are honored that San Francisco gallerists Elizabeth Corden and Jan Potts will serve as the jurors for this exhibition. They will select forty photos for exhibition at PhotoPlace Gallery from October 30th through November 21st, 2012. She will also choose an additional thirty-five photos for the gallery’s “Online Annex.” All selected work will be included in a full-color exhibition catalog available for purchase. To help artists defray costs, PhotoPlace Gallery offers to mat and frame work selected for exhibition free of charge, providing artists print their images to our pre-cut mat and frame sizes. Submission fee: $25 for five photos, $6 each additional photo.

Corden|Potts Gallery is dedicated to exhibiting the work of outstanding contemporary photographers. Elizabeth Corden and Jan Potts, co-owners of Corden|Potts Gallery–are both active photographers who have exhibited their work in solo and group shows around the country. They have also curated photographic exhibits since the late 1990s. Corden and Potts came to realize long ago that there are all too few galleries dedicated to showing the work of top-notch contemporary photographers and, of those galleries that existed back when they were starting out, a huge percentage have disappeared. In response, they have now decided to put their experiences as photographers and as curators into practice to help fill this void. Corden|Potts Gallery is located at 49 Geary Street, Suite 410, San Francisco, CA.
